Cottage Soudley
Overview
The
cottage is set in the backwaters of Upper Soudley, a quite
village
in the heart of The Royal Forest Of Dean. The village
is surrounded by woodland and five minutes walk in any direction
will take you into the forest. This offers ideal holiday accommodation
for those who require a quite relaxing holiday.
Woodland
walks and the local village pub the White Horse are
less than a five minute walk away.
The
nearest village shop is approximately 1 mile away at Ruspidge,
while the nearest supermarket is 2 miles away at Cinderford.

Accommodation
The
cottage sleeps 4-6 people and consists of:

Floor
A
large fully fitted kitchen equipped with electric cooker,
microwave oven, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, automatic washing
machine and a tumble
dryer.
Ground
floor W. C. and washbasin.
Lounge
& Dining Room with woodland views, a double bed settee,
colour TV and video. The cottage is also equipped with a pay
phone.
First
Floor
- Bedroom
1 has a double bed with fitted wardrobes, this
room has woodland views.
- Bedroom
2 has twin beds a wardrobe, this room has farmland
views .
- All
beds are supplied with duvets and sheets. Towel hire is

Bathroom
with bath, wash basin, toilet and separate shower.
Other
- The
cottage is heated by a gas fired central heating. Electricity
is supplied by coin meter.
- The
cottage has an adjoining garage and drive with off road
parking for two cars.
- The
front garden is tastefully paved and has a frog pond;
the rear garden has a lawn with patio

by arrangement.
Surrounding
Area
In
spring the bluebells cover the forest in a carpet of emerald
green and sapphire blue, then followed by the dusky pink foxgloves.
In
summer the variety of trees show their lush shades of green.
Wildlife is active, wild deer roam the forest. Squirrels are
busy collecting for there winter store and birds sing from
dawn to dusk.
In
Autumn, foliage with its glorious colours of copper and burnished
gold, make this a really beautiful time of year.
Soudley
Ponds, nearby, are very scenic with beautiful forest walks
and an abundance of wildlife.
The
Royal Forest Of Dean Heritage Centre is located opposite the
ponds and is well worth a visit. The rich history of the Royal
Forest Of Dean is recounted in various displays both indoors
and outside, step back in time by visiting the Forest Miners
Cottage. The Heritage Centre also has a craft shop, nature
trails and cafe.
A
scenic drive to the Wenchford Picnic Site is a must. On the
way you will drive through woodland rich with beauty and colour
and pass by the remains of the old roman road. The picnic
site is set in beautiful oak woodlands with a stream meandering
nearby. The site has barbecues and picnic tables.
