Overview

The Retreat is a converted semi-detected barn cottage situated in the countryside hamlet of Badgers Cross. Set in the rural area the Hamlet consists of eight dwellings, a garage and agricultural workshop. The Retreat has splendid views of Mounts Bay & Newlyn Harbour.

The popular resort of St Ives lies 5 miles away, Penzance with its excellent shopping centre lies only 2 miles away.

Accommodation

The cottage sleeps 6-8 people and consists of:

Ground Floor

The ground floor consists of a kitchen diner with seating for 8 people. The kitchen has a built in hob and oven, microwave, fridge and an automatic washing machine.

It also has a shower room with W. C., wash basin, mirror and shaving sockets.

There is also a twin bedroom with twin beds. The room contains storage drawers, wardrobe and an en suite shower with W. C. It is an ideal family room as it is adjacent to the Bunk Room.

First Floor

  • Lounge with views of the countryside, Mounts Bay and Newlyn Harbour. It is comfortably furnished and has a colour television. The settee converts into a double bed.
  • Master Bedroom has views looking over Mounts Bay. It has a 4ft double bed, built in wardrobe and a chest of draws.
  • All beds contain duvets, sheets and covers.

Other

  • The cottage has a rockery at the front with a palm tree and picnic table.
  • The Retreat is fully central heated by Electric Storage heaters. Electricity is supplied by £1 slot meters.

Surrounding Area

Explore its golden beaches, secluded coves and rugged coastline. Historical Cornwall, with its tales of long ago, the smugglers and ship wreckers claiming their illegal bounty. The tin mines, once the main industry in Cornwall, are left to decay gracefully.

The Retreat is set in the countryside in the sleepy hamlet of Badgers Cross. The popular resort of St Ives is close by; this ancient fishing port famous for its narrow cobbled streets now has its very own Tate Gallery.

Marazion with its famous landmark of St Michael's Mount is a short drive from the Retreat; the Mount is owned by the National Trust and can be reached by a causeway at low tide. The beach at Marazion is three miles long and has ample parking.

Lands End one of Cornwall’s famous attractions with its rugged coastline and exhibitions.

Penzance is 2 miles away from the Retreat; it has an excellent shopping centre. You may take the opportunity of visiting the Isles of Scilly a ferry runs daily (weather permitting) or by helicopter.
